New Baby Chicks

This past Wednesday (April 20) our order of 120 baby chicks came in.

We actually only ordered 100 but a guy cancelled his order at the last second so we got an extra 20 for free.

Thanks for stopping by.

4-H Project

Here are a few pictures of my Cub Cadet lawnmower which I'm restoring for my 4-H project

It already runs so I don't have to do much with the engine but fix a couple little things.

Mainly I just have to replace gas lines, fix the steering, maybe one new tire, and repaint the frame, hood, fenders, grill, mower deck, and engine.

In this picture you can see that I have the hood off, and getting ready to remove the engine from the frame. Below, I have removed the grill and detached the electrical box which was mounted to the grill. I will post more pictures as I continue with the project.

Introduction

Hello, my name is Johnny. I am almost 16. I live on a 5-acre farm in northwestern Ohio. I enjoy farming, gardening, working on engines and basically anything I can do with my hands. I like country and 80's-90's rock music.

Here on Life As Johnny In the Country, I will show you what it's like to live in the country and on a farm. More or less, what I do in everyday life. By posting pictures, I will show you a little bit of everything, my gardens, what's new on the farm, exciting things I did, and the latest projects I'm working on.

Currently, I am working on getting the gardens and the greenhouse ready to be planted. So far in the greenhouse, I have several things planted including: Kale, Strawberries, 5 different Mint plants,
Red beets, 4 different lettuces, several different herbs, and much more to come.

In the gardens, I am still waiting for the rain to stop so I can get them plowed and tilled.

I also have been working on my 4-h project. Which I am restoring a 1961-1971 (not sure what exact year it was made) International Cub Cadet lawnmower. I will post some pictures of the mower in my next post.
